Get an Australian IP to play Pokemon Go on Android or iOS devices

Niantic announced that a field test of Pokemon GO was being rolled out for Australians and New Zealanders towards the end of April. Although Niantic and the Pokemon Company has yet to announce a release date for Pokemon GO, it's anticipated that it'll be released sometime this summer. So if you want to play the test version, an Australian IP will help.

About Pokémon GO

Pokémon GO is an augmented-reality game developed by Niantic for iOS and Android devices. In Pokémon GO, you will gain levels as a Trainer, and at higher levels you will be able to catch more powerful Pokémon to complete your Pokédex. The game will allow players to capture, battle, train and trade virtual Pokémon who appear throughout the real world.

Niantic previously rolled out a beta test for Pokemon GO in Japan, which gave Pokemon fans their first unofficial look at the highly anticipated augmented reality game. Niantic has slowly added features to the game throughout the first series of beta tests, so it's possible the Australian beta test will show off even more features for the game.

How to get an Australia or Japan IP

The easiest way to get an Australia or Japan IP is connecting to a VPN. For the uninitiated, VPNs (virtual private networks) log you into that provider's dedicated server network and reroutes all your online actions, providing a protected tunnel for all your internet traffic. Your real IP would be hide, and the server IP would show, allowing you unlock games.

How to setup VPN on iOS or Android

For iOS players

1. Go to App Store search 'FlyVPN' to find FlyVPN App.
2. Download the app.
3. Enter your FlyVPN account and login. Register a VPN account if you don't have. You can have free test after getting a FlyVPN account. Or use the free VPN trial accounts.
4. Click 'VPN Server' after login, then you will find 'Single Mode' and 'Batch Mode'. Click 'Batch Mode', you can setup several together, even setup all servers listed.
5. Click 'Setup all Selected' after choosing the servers, and click 'Install'.
6. Click 'Done' after profile installed.
7. Go to 'Setting' - 'General' - 'VPN'. Choose a Japan or Australia server.
8. Change VPN Status to 'On'. 

For Android players

1. Get FlyVPN app free from Google Play Store, or from FlyVPN download VPN page.
2. After installed, you will find the FlyVPN icon on desktop, click this icon.
3. Click "start to use", it will lead you to the register page.
4. After register an account, you can use your account to have free test.
5. Choose servers in Japan or Australia.
6. Click "connect". You are now get a server IP.
